Our client, King John, is innocent. He has been accused of unfair taxation, interfering with the affairs of the Catholic Church, improper seizure of land, and unlawful treatment of English soldiers. Our king may have done some of these things. And is it possible that he was only trying to make good out of these accusations? What if he was using the money he got from taxes to help England? What if he was seizing the land for a good cause? Maybe he is doing all of these to make England a stronger Nation. You can’t make such foolish accusations without having proof of what he did with the after effects of them. King John has never meant to harm anybody. Maybe he was never taught not to do such bad things. Whatever the case may be, our king is a compassionate man and has not meant to treat his people badly. Now whether King John is innocent or not, I will defend him a best I can. King John has had bad spills in the past, but could he have possibly changed to a good man now instead of the rotten filth you people think of him as. Perhaps King John has changed his ways to a loving and kind king that is loyal to his people. King John will not go down without a fight.
